Maplestory Guide: How to Master the Mapleroyals 21 Attack Shield

Are you looking for the Maplestory? With more than 182 million registered accounts on the Global MapleStory (GMS) version alone, MapleStory is one of the most well-known MMORPGs of all time (there were multiple versions of the game released after the original in 2003 to accommodate for players outside of South Korea). However, for the majority of players, Amherst City on Maple Island wasn’t just where they chose to be Warriors or Bowmen; it was also where they first learned about macroeconomics.

The highly awaited sequel to MapleStory, MapleStory M, is now available, and the buzz is real! With MapleStory M, you may enjoy the familiar MapleStory universe on your mobile device. Enjoy an MMORPG experience whenever and wherever you want, right in the palm of your hand.

Along with the typical boss fights, stressful mob fights, and exploring with your friends, MapleStory also included a dynamic user-generated economy where players could buy, sell, and trade their stuff for either mesos (the in-game currency) or NX (which were purchased using real money). The players would roam around large towns crowded with public discussions promoting the goods each individual possessed and how low their prices were. MapleStory taught children the supply and demand curve long before their schools did, if nothing else.

Elements of the game:

  • The main form of payment in the game is meso. Monsters can drop mesos, and you can also get them by doing tasks. Selling to in-game shops or other players who are eager to buy what they have to offer is another way for gamers to earn mesos.
  • Character development, or character statistics, establishes a character’s strength or weakness.
  • In exchange for a reward, players can complete quests for non-player characters, or NPCs. Players have access to a wide variety of missions, each of which has prerequisites they must satisfy in order to begin.
  • Party Quests are quests that can only be completed by a party of players. This is an excellent opportunity to meet new people and take a break from training or grinding quests. Party quests typically reward the players with significant quantities of experience points or practical equipment.
  • The Maple World’s native inhabitants are monsters. To level up, finish missions, get stuff, or get mesos, players must kill them in order to receive experience.
  • A store called Cash Shop allows customers to make cash purchases. The game can be played without these items being purchased. Some people may wish to purchase the products, though, in order to improve their gaming experience.

  2. Unlocked All Premium Feature
  3. Unlimited Coins

  6. Unlimited Everything

Gameplay Review:

The game was rife with bots that were programmed to gather rare things and mesos in order to sell them to lower-level players in town. In contrast, users had the option of paying third party companies and giving them their account information so that a “expert” could access their account and farm for them, doing away with the “grindy” element of the game’s growth system. Additionally, players had the option of Real World Trading, which involved exchanging actual money through PayPal for goods that were far better than the typical drops you would receive by repeatedly completing difficult raids.

The result was hyperinflation. The in-game money became almost worthless because anyone could go online and “purchase” mesos, and even low-level things would cost billions of mesos, leaving them out of reach for the majority of casual players. Even more challenging to obtain were rare and improved products, which frequently required gamers to buy enormous amounts of NX or just wire money to the seller. In what was supposed to be a fun, 2D scroller adventure game, cosmetic things that could only be originally acquired via a random item generator with NX (similar to loot boxes in Overwatch but with a secondary market) became status symbols that established a cruel capitalist riches class system.

Not only MapleStory, but other games also had similar problems. Another stark illustration of this rampant hyperinflation was provided by the now-famous Auction Houses in Diablo 3. Similar to MapleStory, users have the option of bidding on valuable items in the gold Auction House using real money with a cut going to Blizzard or the Real Money Auction House using in-game currency. After the same issues of bots, paid farming, and real-world trading created an economy where lower quality items were auctioned off for billions of gold and higher quality items were sent directly to the Real Money Auction House for thousands of dollars, Blizzard swiftly shut down the Auction Houses in 2014.

Editor’s Final thoughts:

When a game emphasises maintaining an open economy a priority for both players and developers, as in MapleRoyals, amazing things can happen. It raises the possibility that players will one day be free from Big Meso’s tyrannical rule so they can freely explore other islands and purchase new armour.
